Getting Started

APPROVED AND USED BY 20+ ALL-TIME PLAYERS

After the Retro Meta Changes Blue Hive meta changed slightly.

This meta change has caused the bombs to no longer be the main source of pollen for blue. Bubbles are now the main source that fills up balloons. The ratio of Honey-made/Balloon-size has increased significantly, if you think your balloons are not as large as usual, don’t worry as the honey at hive multipliers have increased and the amount in field / rate of pop star has increased.

Keep in mind that this is a BASE HIVE, everyone can change to their liking and game progression.

Hive Composition

  • 1 Tabby Bee
  • 1 Festive Bee
  • 1 Bear Bee
  • 1 Gummy Bee
  • 1 Windy Bee
  • 1 Puppy Bee
  • 9 Tadpole Bees
  • 19 Buoyant Bees
  • 1 Fuzzy Bee
  • 3 Music Bees
  • 1 Diamond Bee
  • 1 Ninja Bee
  • 1 Shocked bee
  • 1 Commander Bee
  • 1 Frosty Bee
  • 1 Bubble Bee
  • 1 Bucko bee
  • 1 Stubborn Bee
  • 1 Cool Bee
  • 1 Bumble Bee
  • 1 Looker Bee
  • 1 Basic Bee

This is the BASE hive, which means it changes for different players.

Recommended to drop fuzzy if you have Tadpole alt. Can drop frosty if you have good fill for a buoyant. Should drop Stubborn if more then 8% ATL on Supreme cog amulet.

IF YOU HAVE NO DIGITAL DRIVES YOU SHOULD NOT RUN DIGITAL BEE

THIS IS AN ENDGAME HIVE THAT YOU OPTIMIZE FOR YOURSELF

Do this slowly while testing what works best for you.

Buoyant:Tad Ratio

Begin with 19:9, if you are lvl 20/21 you will see that you will fill way too easily you could drop a tad for a buoyant.

If you macro with alts you can always drop a 1 or 2 tadpoles for buoyants.

Beequips

Be sure to check out our guide on Waxing the Beequips.

https://meta-bee.com/beequips-waxing-mutations/

Beequips are extremely powerful with their great hive bonuses and bee buffs. Blue hives could run many different beequip mixes , these are some example good blue beequips:

  • Camphot lip balm OPPPPPPP
  • Candy Ring OP
  • Snow Tiara
  • Paper Angel
  • Beesmas Tree Hats
  • Toy Drum
  • Reindeer antlers NOT recommended
  • Toy horn
  • Pinecones
  • Beesmas Tops
  • Elf Caps
  • Charm Bracelet
  • Kazoo
  • Beret
  • Peppermint Antennas ON BEAR BEE
  • Toy Horn
  • Paperclips
  • WHISTLE FOR MELODY

Some people run Coal but it’s quite hard to find a good one and not many have it. Running a Sweatband depends on how good the stats are and how developed your digital bee is. Peppermint Antennas can be run depending on how good the stats are. The Toy Horn is to be run if constant Melody isn’t achieved.

Example Beequip Placements:

Whistle

Commander bee

Pinecones:

Stubborn

Bumble

Beesmas Tops:

Looker Bee

Cool Bee

Basic Bee

Elf Caps: (mixed with Convert Mutations)

Tabby

Diamond

Buoyant

Beesmas tree hats:

buoyant bees

Amulets

Here is a list of some key stats on amulets that you need for the current Blue Meta:

Ant Amulet:

Blue pollen % (Max 30%)

White pollen % (Max 30%)

Pollen % (Max 5%)

Convert Rate % (Max 110%)

Critical Chance % (Max 3%)

Critical Power % (Max 50%)

Snail Amulet:

Convert amount (+21 – +25)

Goo (+11% – 15%)

Pollen (+4% – +5%)

Stick bug Amulet:

Capacity (+200,000 –  +300,000)

Convert Rate (x1.20 – x1.25)

Blue Pollen (+25% – +30%)

Blue Bomb Pollen (+25% – +30%)

Moon Amulet:

Honey per pollen (+2% – +8%)

Bond from treats (+3% – +10%)

King Beetle Amulet:

Convert rate (+1% – +100%)

Bamboo field pollen (Max 100%)

Bee attack (+1)

Supreme Star Amulet

  • Capacity (x2.5)
  • Blue pollen (+15% – +70%)
  • Convert Rate (x1.05 – x1.25)
  • Bee Ability Rate (+1% – +7%)
  • Critical Chance ( +1% – +7%)
  • Pollen (+5% – +20%)

Supreme Cog Amulet very important

  • +200,000 to +250,000 Capacity
  • +25% to +30% Blue Pollen
  • +15% to +20% Bubble Pollen
  • +5% to +10% Ability Token Lifespan
  • +4% to +5% Blue instant conversion

Supreme Star Amulet should be Pop ShowerPop Guiding, or a good Solo Pop

Pop Shower > Pop Guiding ; Assuming all are 5/5 and similar stat ranges

5/5 Solo Pop < 4/5 Pop Shower/Guiding

Pop Shower

Blue relies on Pop Star to fill balloons and the capacity buff from Star Shower will help. Also, the chance to catch a star from Star Shower makes it easy to get inspire stacks which are overpowered.

Pop Guiding

Guiding Star also grants a permanent 1.25x capacity multiplier as well as a 2.5x pollen and capacity bonus for summoning a star.

Nectar

Nectar Priority

  1. Motivating (BP, CR, BAR)
  2. Comforting (BP, CRH, CCR)
  3. Satisfying (HH, RCR, WP)
  4. Refreshing (BCR, RP, BAR)
  5. Invigorating (RP, CR, BA)

Depending on how good your planters are, you can set priority to 70%-80%. Should not run Invigorating if you don’t have atleast 2 of the Endgame shop planters.

    1. As I said you can optimise this hive to what you see on your graphs. Also it is very easy to find macro servers for blue online.

  1. What about a shy bee? its practically 5% free pollen, also holds a paper angel so maybe run it over bomber especialy since bombs got nerfed bc cactus badge changes

    1. The cactus field change did not nerf blue bombs. bombs at max bomb combo already destroy entire patches, higher than that doesnt make a difference

  2. Right now ive got 48 bees and a level 14 hive. should i think about going towards a certain hive colour yet or nah?

    1. The older guide will not be in use anymore as it is not needed, instead if you are switching to blue hive after SSA, use bubble bees till you can replace them for tadpoles and make sure you build all the other rarity bees needed first

  3. why bumble bee when you can have a extra gifted buyonant for the 1.2x capacity bonus? and buyonant bees have blue bombs too

    1. Blue simply just doesnt need it, only 1 of the tokens is useful (blue bomb+), its hive bonus doesnt benefit honeymaking at all. You are much better off using a buoyant/tadpole bee in its place.

  4. Is running g cobalt for 15% insta convt not worth it compared to another g tadpole or buoyant? Cause why dosent it use cobalt

  5. So I have a few questions. Should I replace a buoyant bee with a gifted puppy until all my bees are lvl 20? I also got a 4/5 double passive star amulet a while back but I’m wondering if I should gamble the 5 trillion honey I have right now to see if I can get a good solo pop or if I should just focus on leveling up my bees. Should I save up for the hydrophilic(endgame blue planter) or should I just ignore it till I get a lvl 20 hive? And could you give me some more info on which beequips I should give my bees? Or should I just follow the example beequips placements you’ve provided for now. Sorry for all the questions but it’d be great if you could answer. Thanks if you do!

    1. hello, sorry for the late reply. We are currently working to update this guide. yes you should use a puppy bee. the guide is planned to be updated in the next few days

  6. I thought diamond bee was meta for level 20+ blue hives rn. 75% more from balloons, I have seen people run 8 gifted diamond bees for that. Please elaborate.

    1. hello, sorry for the late reply. the new hive will be added in the next few days! and will be elaborated fully
